Welcome to the Good Shepherd Centre (Open School)

 

The Good Shepherd Centre (Open School) provides residential care and education for girls ages 12 - 17 years.

 

Residents are normally referred by the Statutory Agencies of Scotland and are subject to legislation as set out in The Children (Scotland) Act 1995. The school is an independent voluntary organisation.

 

Services have been delivered from this site since 1948. The school is governed by a voluntary Board of Managers. The Open School holds registered charitable status. Reg. Charity No: SCO 30019. The Centre is registered by the Care Commission in line with The Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2005 and is regularly inspected by both the Commission and HMIE.

 

The Centre's host authority is Renfrewshire Council. The school is an examination centre approved by the Scottish Qualification Authority. The Open School is an Investors in People organisation first gaining recognition in 2003 with re award in 2006.
